Archaeological research that intentionally uses intuition is rare. While archaeologists may use intuition in the laboratory or in the field, intentional approaches are rare. Probably because science likes to ignore all the capacities of the brain!
The Alexandria project
The Alexandria Project was an intuitive archaeology project conducted by Stephan A. Schwartz for the Mobius Society from 1978 to 1979. A book and a documentary film of the same name were produced as a record of the project.
The goal was to conduct a remote viewing experiment applied to archaeology to measure its effectiveness and relevance. In other words, the goal was to use intuitive skills as an aid to archaeological exploration within a scientific framework. The Alexandria Project is the most ambitious application of intuition in archaeology to date.
